Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning.

We believe that preschool age children learn best when we use play as our primary teaching tool.

We know that children learn by doing so plan hands-on activities and movement in every subject we teach. We promise-your child will learn and have fun while getting ready for Kindergarten!

Meet the teachers

Janell Trapp

Director and Lead Teacher

I love preschool students, picture books, paint, scissors, glue, and playing Duck, Duck, Goose!

I am happily married and have raised two daughters who are now adults. My youngest daughter attended Harvest Preschool the first year it was open as a 3-year-old. I have been teaching at Harvest Preschool most years since, starting as an Assistant Teacher and then most recently as Director and Lead Teacher.

I love listening to audiobooks, bird watching, and traveling with my family anywhere that includes warm water and great snorkeling.

It is my joy to watch children learn and understand that Jesus loves them and that they can talk to Him. The chance to be included in a child's spiritual journey will never grow old.

Kris Burkhardt

Assistant Teacher

Teaching is my passion.

I was a substitute teacher in the Hillsboro School district for many years while my daughter Chevelle was growing up. She recently graduated from Faith Bible High School.

I love to hang out with friends and family, especially in the outdoors camping, horseback riding, or riding our family ATVs.  My dream would to be to live on a farm with room for my daughter to have many horses and space for my dog Jack to run around.

I believe God has a plan and I am BLESSED to be part of the Harvest Preschool family.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Harvest Preschool was opened back in 2003 and we have loved being a part of Harvest Community Church and the surrounding neighborhood.

Hundreds of children and families have been a part of our preschool community and occasionally they come back to visit us.  What a treat!

Our first students are now graduating from college or getting married.  God has been faithful to us through the years, and we look forward to being a part of His continuing story here at Harvest Preschool.
